Indra Nooyi the Highest Paid Woman CEO

Indra Nooyi, the CEO of PepsiCo, is the highest paid woman CEO in the world, a research by Forbes international magazine concluded. Nooyi brings home an annual income of $12.7 million, which covers her basic salary and a bonus payout of over $4 million dollar. In average, Nooyi pockets about $1.05 million per month.

Nooyi, whose full name is Indra Krishnamorthy Nooyi, was born in Chennai, India and received her early and tertiary education in India. Her great academic achievements allow her to pursue her masters in the prestigious Yale School of Management, United States, and from thereon, her career and life was destined to be in the American land.

Upon graduation, Nooyi landed a job with a number of multinational companies including Motorola, AAB and the Boston Consulting Group. As the years went by and as she garnered more experience, Nooyi became a highly sought corporate figure in America. Her career in PepsiCo started in 1994 after she was approached for a senior executive job. 7 years after joining the company, she was appointed as the President and CFO. Her appointment as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) came in 2006, making her the fifth CEO in the history of PepsiCo, spanning over 40 years of establishment.

Nooyi was also named among the most powerful women in the world by the Time magazine - 5th in 2007 and 3rd in 2008.
